Google gets a stylish facelift

Google applies a bit of styling to its search engine results and homepage to bring it out of the 90s.

I'm not too sure if its visible for everyone just yet, but it looks like Google is starting to apply some additional styling to it's search engine results and homepage. In my opinion this is quite an interesting thing as normally Google has only really changed it's logo and added features. But now we have colourful icons, smooth graidients and drop dhadows which brings Google out of the early 90s and into today's web design trends.

Web designers can only wonder if this recent style change on Google will effect the overall design of the internet as we start to see more and more sites pick up design cues from Google.

Would love to know what everyone thinks about this. Post your comments below.

SERPS: Colourful icons and soft gradients on search box and button.

Google SERPS redesign. New styling

Homepage: Again, soft drop shadows and gradients. Google is getting stylish.
